Castelbrando’s dream: the largest living Italian Christmas tree is in Cison di Valmarino
The largest living tree in Italy is located in the province of Treviso and more precisely in the Castelbrando estate, a fairy tale castle owned by the entrepreneur Massimo Colomban located in the municipality of Cison di Valmarino, which houses a hotel, spa and restaurant.
The tree is a 33-meter-high Atlas cedar with a circumference of 3 meters. A two-hundred-year-old plant that makes an already dream location even more suggestive.
On the occasion of Christmas, in addition to the illuminated shrub, the estate hosts an ice nativity scene with statues two meters high created by the sculptors Francesco Falasconi (Apecchio), Mario Demuro (Matera), Giovanni Colarusso (Isernia) and Francesco Carrer (Zeson di Piave) .
The tree, which is protected by the Superintendency as a National Historic Asset, also entered the Top 10 of the largest trees in Europe.
