Battle’s Museum

Battle’s Museum

A Museum to tell history starting from a multitude of stories, micro-stories, tales, small fragments, anecdotes, fragments of memories, capable of reassembling together a choral narration on the First World War, to give voice not only to the great deeds of the heroes as much as rather to the small daily gestures of ordinary madness, to the absurd normality of war.

A Museum, where the real challenge is not to “explain” but to “tell”, thanks to evocation: finds and documents have been selected in such a way as to focus attention on single significant details, avoiding a bundling that leads to confusing emotions and understanding on the part of the visitor.

The exhibition was designed to highlight and fully enhance the theme in question and at the same time preserve the most important historicized aspects of the original museum. The combined use of shapes, lights, sounds, colors, materials, still and moving images has exploited the set of languages and tools offered by multimedia, ensuring that the cognitive level and the emotional level are able to coexist and integrate into a one great narrative plan.

The large exhibition area of the Museum has been divided into three large distinct thematic areas in “Life in the trenches” on the ground floor, “Life during the occupation” on the first floor, with the adjoining “Armory of the Marson house” and “Dalla battle to the myth ”on the second floor.

Closely integrated into the museum visit circuit is the multimedia laboratory set up in the deconsecrated church of S. Paoletto and set up with thematic educational workshops, removable seats for audiovisual projections, stereometric image viewers.
