Lake Santa Caterina in Auronzo di Cadore will host the World Speed Canoe Championships, Junior (17-18 years old) and Under 23 (19-23 years old) categories, from Wednesday 5 to Sunday 9 July 2023.
The International Canoe Federation has assigned this event to Italy in 2019, choosing Auronzo for the excellent organisation of the last European Championships and its fascinating setting, where the combination of sport, landscape and culture is consolidated and has long been a resource for the local economy. This is an unprecedented challenge: organising such a sporting event on an Alpine lake and in a mountainous setting is a first for a ‘world’ competition that awards the title.
