On the centenary of the most interesting discovery in the history of archaeology, the tour of the exhibition ‘Tutankhamun – The Tomb, the Treasure, the Curse’ continues, stopping in Padua at the former Slaughterhouse Cathedral from 12 November.
Thanks to the 120 reproductions of the most important artefacts found in Tutankhamun’s tomb, made in Cairo in collaboration with the Ministry of Egyptian Antiquities, the use of elaborate set designs, and the application of virtual reality, realised by Unsquare Life, the visitor is catapulted into the reconstructed environment of the pharaoh’s tomb, as seen by archaeologist Howard Carter in 1922.
Viewers can enjoy an immersive experience by walking through the mummification section, where they can observe and understand the various stages of embalming, and listen to the story of the tomb’s discovery from the voice of Carter himself, played by Bruno Santini.
The exhibition, organised by Discovery Time and curated by Egyptologist Clarissa Decembri, already on show at the Castel dell’Ovo in Naples, doubles on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the discovery of the sumptuous tomb with the aim of bringing the general public closer to the fascinating Egyptian culture, through the story of the life and death of a pharaoh, whom fate made immortal.
Children and young people can enjoy an itinerary specially designed for them with captions and visual aids.
