On Friday, March 17 at 8:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of Sernaglia della Battaglia, the fourth appointment with the Festival of Knowledge will be held. The cultural review, conceived and organized by the Municipal Administration and the “Giocondo Pillonetto” Civic Library, and under the artistic direction of Dr. Ezio Pederiva, will delve into the fascinating world of science.
The scientist and life senator Elena Cattaneo, full professor of Pharmacology at the University of Milan, moderated by Dr. Ezio Pederiva, will present her book “Armed with Science” (published by Raffaello Cortina) and address some striking and topical scientific issues. From Covid to stem cells, from agriculture to homeopathy and the public role of the scientist, Elena Cattaneo shows how much science there is in our lives and how much in the private and public lives of each of us there is still a need for it, to strip us of fears and distrusts.
“The Municipal Administration, with this important event of the Festival,” emphasizes Mayor Mirco Villanova, “intends to approach and question science. Being able to meet such an important figure as the scientist and senator for life Elena Cattaneo represents for the city community, for all those who will want to be present and for the students we have involved thanks to the partnership with the “M. Casagrande” institutes of Pieve di Soligo and “G. Verdi” of Valdobbiadene, a very special occasion.”
