Exhibition ‘Van Gogh – The colors of life’
The largest exhibition of the Dutch artist’s works ever organized in Italy

The great exhibition conceived and curated by Marco Goldin, and promoted by the Municipality of Padua with the collaboration of the Kröller-Müller Museum and the Van Gogh Museum, is dedicated to Vincent van Gogh.

125 works will be presented to the public, 78 of which by van Gogh alone and the others by artists who have intertwined their creative path with that of the Dutch painter, including Delacroix, Courbet, Millet, Hiroshige, Kunisada, seurat, Pissarro, Signac, Guillaumin, Bernard and of course Gauguin.

To these is added Francis Bacon, of whom three canvases will be exhibited, to indicate how the figure of van Gogh was also an inspiration for the great authors of the twentieth century.

Through 5 sections (The painter as a hero; The formative years. From the Marcasse mine to The Hague; From Nuenen to Paris. A changing color; A decisive year, 1888; Of moons and clouds. Van Gogh and the end of his travel), the exhibition aims to tell the story of the artist’s life and art.

The Sower, the Portrait of the Postman Joseph Roulin and Self-Portrait with a Gray Felt Hat, are just some of the masterpieces that can be admired.
