Count Loredan Gasparini
In Venegazzù di Volpago del Montello, on the slopes of the homonymous coast, in the heart of the Alta Marca Trevigiana (north of Venice), the 60 hectares of vineyards of the Conte Loredan Gasparini farm extend. An area historically suited to the production of fine wines, so much so that in the distant 1590 the historian Boniface praised it in his “Historia Trevigiana” claiming that “The countryside of Trevigi has woods that are useful for many woods and for hunting … The land produces ( …) Very good wines and the best is that of the Montello Riviera ”, it consists of clayey soils very rich in iron and mineral components.

Founded in the 1950s by Count Piero Loredan, direct descendant of the Doge of Venice Leonardo Loredan (who chose the territory of “Vignigazzu” to establish his home in a splendid Palladian villa), the company passed in 1973 to the current owner Giancarlo Ball. From the very beginning, the founder had the Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec vineyards planted in the company estates to produce wines of high quality value, adopting respect and profound enhancement of the grape / territory link.

The Second World War had just passed when, at the end of the 1940s, Count Piero Loredan realized that in the Venegazzù (TV) land it was possible to make something extraordinary: a wine of the highest quality. A truly extraordinary quality in an absolute sense, but even more so for the territory. A territory that until then had shown great potential, but had never yet found any man with a love for wine and a passion for quality. Thus in 1951 the first “Rosso di Venegazzù” was born.

Venegazzù estate

This is the place where the company was born. Surrounded by vineyards, the splendid Palladian villa Spineda stands in all its beauty and majesty, an eighteenth-century work by the architect F.M. Priests. This is flanked by the farmhouse that houses the cellar, also set in a setting of incomparable beauty. The forty-seven hectares of vineyards that surround the buildings are mainly red-berried, mainly composed of the Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec vines.

Giavera estate

Located on the hilly slopes (between 150 and 250 m asl) of Montello, which invite with their shapes to contemplate the splendid landscape, it dominates the plain of the Marca Trevigiana. At the foot of the estate there is the Villa which was the seat of the Montello Forest Authority at the time of the Serenissima Republic of Venice. The company is spread over twenty-three hectares, almost entirely dedicated to Prosecco Superiore DOCG ASOLO.

The flagships of the Loredan Gasparini farm are its two cuts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec, so much so that over time they have become true symbols of international enology. Just think, for example, that the famous Encyclopedia Treccani, a pillar of Italian knowledge, has specifically identified under the heading “Venegazzù” the name of “… a fine red table wine produced in limited quantities in the Venegazzù area”. The company’s flagship wine, the famous “Head of State”, was included in a French publication entitled “100 Vins de Légende” as one of the 100 wines in the world which, for their history and their value, could be unanimously considered as legendary. The Prosecco Superiore is also excellent, coming from the vineyards of the ASOLO DOCG area, with a particular structure and flavor.
