In the month that marks the memory of the most devastating bombing suffered by Treviso during the Second World War – 7 April 1944 – “Once upon a time in Treviso” begins, a new guided itinerary dedicated to the historical and urban memory of the city.
Two events organized by IAT Treviso centro (Tourist Office): Saturday 12 and Saturday 26 April, starting at 3:00 pm from the IAT Office in Piazza Borsa.
An opportunity to explore how Treviso has transformed over the centuries. Walking through squares, buildings and views of the center, you will go in search of what once was there and today no longer exists: a park that replaced a stately building, a school built on the site of a historic residence, next to a church that no longer exists, which was once one of the most important in the city.
These absences tell the tragic story of the Marca, torn apart by one of the bloodiest bombings in Italian history, immediately after the one in Rome on July 19, 1943.
The journey of memory will be enriched by unexpected visual and artistic moments that, in addition to completing the visit with an original and engaging perspective, will offer participants tangible memories of the tour. A small surprise, distributed at specific points along the itinerary, designed to intensify the emotion of discovery.
