Vinitaly, the new Touring Guide of the Prosecco Hills presented

Six years ago, when the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene officially became part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, a clear commitment was made: to enhance this extraordinary land and make it known to the world. Today, those fruits are starting to be harvested with record numbers: in 2024, despite the difficulties of recent years and the pandemic parenthesis, the 29 municipalities in the area exceeded 500,000 tourist presences for the first time, with a total of 528,000 overnight stays generated by over 235,000 arrivals, marking an annual growth of +9.7%.

A result that is not only numerical, but also qualitative: driving this growth is in fact a tourism that is increasingly attentive to the environment, culture and food and wine excellence, in search of authentic experiences in one of the most fascinating landscapes in the Veneto.

A new guide for traveling slowly (and with taste)

The recent publication of the new guide by the Touring Club Italiano, officially presented at Vinitaly 2024, in the presence of the President of the Veneto Region Luca Zaia, the President of the Association for the Heritage of the Prosecco Hills Marina Montedoro, the Councilor of the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso and Belluno Angelo Facchin and the Editorial Director of Touring Ottavio di Brizzi, also confirms the growing interest in this territory.

The guide is part of the prestigious “Itinerari Slow Food” series, and is the second title dedicated to the Veneto, after the one on Belluno and its territory. A work designed for travelers who love to explore slowly, letting themselves be guided by the flavors and stories of the places.

Four itineraries to discover the soul of the territory

The guide offers four itineraries that cross the province of Treviso:

  • The Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene
  • The city of Treviso
  • The area of Monte Grappa, Colli Asolani and Montello
  • The fascinating walled cities of the territory

Each itinerary is enriched with detailed descriptions, cultural curiosities and practical advice, with the usual “gourmet” touch signed by Slow Food. There are over 100 addresses selected among restaurants, trattorias, agritourisms, shops, wineries and accommodation facilities, chosen in collaboration with organizations such as Coldiretti, Confagricoltura, CIA and the Consorzio Tutela del Vino Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG.

Sustainable and conscious tourism

This publication is much more than a tourist guide: it is a tool to promote a sustainable and respectful tourism model, capable of telling not only the beauty of the landscape but also the history, traditions and daily work of those who live in these lands.

“A territory that has been able to transform itself into a destination of excellence, where wine is only the starting point for an experience that involves all the senses”, declared President Zaia during the presentation. And the numbers prove him right: the Prosecco Hills are not just a postcard backdrop, but a lively, authentic and welcoming destination, ready to open up to the world with pride.
