Arredamont’s grand finale: culture, beauty, and creativity

Arredamont is preparing for its closing weekend. It’s doing so in the name of culture, design, and craftsmanship, with a packed program of events designed to showcase the creativity and tradition of mountain know-how. Tomorrow (Saturday, November 1st), the National Mountain Furnishings Exhibition—hosted in the pavilions of Longarone Fiere Dolomiti—will offer ample space for reflection, research, and beauty.

The day will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the presentation of the third edition of the book “Technique and Art of Upholstery,” edited by the Comunità Tappezzieri of Confartigianato Imprese Marca Trevigiana. Author Luigi Gallinaro will be present, taking the audience on a journey through artisanal expertise, aesthetics, and innovation. In the afternoon, at 3:00 pm, paleontologist Jacopo Longo will speak during the event “Time You Touch: Stories Written in Fossil Wood,” promoted by Cabbia Group. There will also be plenty of opportunities to explore the dialogue between functionality and creativity: at the Appia CNA stand, the spotlight will be on “Mechanics and Design, the Artisan in Formula 2, 3, 4, and Go Kart,” with talks by Luca Tormen (at 10:00 am) and Giorgia Ascari (at 3:00 pm).

Appia CNA will also be featured with two keynote events celebrating the association’s 80th anniversary and the history of Belluno’s manufacturing industry. The first is an exhibition tracing the journey of local craftsmanship from the 1940s to the present day: a journey through archival documents, photographs, postcards, and posters that recount the evolution of businesses and trades, from the first postwar workshops to the economic boom, up to the entrepreneurial independence achieved in recent decades. Among the memorabilia on display, the first minutes from October 1945 stand out, a true treasure trove of association history.
The second initiative is theatrical: on Sunday, November 2nd, at 2:00 pm, the show “Appia CNA Belluno: Eighty Years of Free Enterprise” will be performed, performed by Federico Ticchi and Mauro Case, with musical accompaniment by Margherita Santonastasio of the Liberamente Circo group. Inspired by the book edited by Giacomo Fassetta, the show brings to the stage the key milestones in the history of Appia CNA Belluno, intertwining them with the social and economic growth of the local small and medium-sized businesses. Thanks to its immediate language and original format, the performance appeals to audiences of all ages, combining emotion and education.
In addition to the program of events, the collateral exhibitions that enrich the fair continue, such as the “Scie di gloria” exhibition and the popular “Arte in Fiera Dolomiti” exhibition.

Rewinding the tape, the conference “Dolomites to Live in – The Future Takes Shape,” promoted by Confartigianato Imprese Veneto, offered countless insights. At the heart of the debate was the topic of reclaiming unused structures, with a focus on sustainability and quality of life. “Almost half of the homes in the province of Belluno are unused,” emphasized Federico Della Puppa of Smat Land, calling for urgent policies to enhance and reuse existing buildings. The discussion then extended to the more intimate value of living. “A home is a refuge that should represent one’s soul and allow one to rediscover inner peace. Now there’s more attention to sustainability,” emphasized Ida Di Filippo, host of the television program “Casa a Prima Sight,” while Ambra Piccin, owner of the eponymous architecture firm, highlighted the growing demand to “leave the big cities and seek out small villages, taking advantage of the redevelopment of structures for hotels and hospitality.”
Overall, Arredamont confirms its high level of quality and the capacity for renewal that makes it one of the most beloved and distinctive events on the trade fair scene this year. It’s worth noting that the National Mountain Furnishings Exhibition is open on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
