Athletics, the Veneto Cross-country event in Soligo

Around 600 entries for the event taking place tomorrow – Sunday, February 8 – which will award the regional titles in the promotional categories. Federal vice president Manuela Levorato will be a special guest.

(07.02.2026) Cross-country running heads to the Prosecco Hills. On Sunday, February 8, in the Treviso area, the third edition of the Cross Colli di Soligo UNESCO World Heritage Site will take place. The event, organized by Atletica Sernaglia with the patronage of the municipalities of Farra di Soligo and Sernaglia della Battaglia, is the fifth of six fixtures making up the Veneto cross-country season.

On the fields of Soligo, individual regional titles will be awarded in the promotional categories (Under-16 and Under-14), and athletes will also compete in the third round of the regional Masters team championship, which will conclude the following Sunday in Grumolo delle Abbadesse (Vicenza). The morning will wrap up with a spectacular short cross-country race (3 km) for the senior category.

There are around 600 registered athletes in total, including those competing in the youth introductory races that will complement the regional event. For many runners, this will also be one of the final fitness tests ahead of a major upcoming goal for the discipline: the Italian Cross-Country Championships, scheduled in two weeks’ time in Marinella di Selinunte (Trapani). The guest of honor will be the federal vice president—and former Italian sprint champion—Manuela Levorato.

Races will begin at 9:45 a.m. with the Masters events; from 10:40 a.m. the promotional-category races will follow; the two senior short cross-country races are scheduled for 11:55 a.m. (women) and 12:15 p.m. (men).
