On Thursday, May 28, the Corsa Rosa returns to the iconic climb of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene: twenty thousand fans along the one-kilometer ascent through the vineyards. The joy of Alberto Stocco: “A dream becoming reality, thanks to those who believed in it.” And on May 31, the Giro Women returns.
Cortina d’Ampezzo (Belluno), February 12, 2026 – A Wall of passion for the grand finale of the Giro d’Italia. The 109th edition of the Giro d’Italia, scheduled from May 8 to 31, will once again pass over the Muro di Ca’ del Poggio, completing a fairy-tale “treble”: three appearances in three consecutive editions of the Giro.
Today, Thursday, February 12, at Casa Veneto, among the Olympic mountains of Cortina d’Ampezzo, the spotlight was on the Muro di Ca’ del Poggio during the presentation of the Veneto stages of the Giro. Speakers included Paolo Bellino, CEO of RCS Sport & Events; Veneto Region Vice President Lucas Pavanetto; Regional Councillor Dario Bond; President of the Province of Belluno Roberto Padrin; and the mayors of Pieve di Soligo (Stefano Soldan), Feltre (Viviana Fusaro), and Alleghe (Danilo De Toni). Also present were three cyclists past and present: Andrea Vendrame, Sacha Modolo, and Diego Bragato.
The Giro d’Italia will return to the Muro on Thursday, May 28. It will be Stage 18: starting from Fai della Paganella in Trentino and reaching the San Pietro di Feletto climb in mid-afternoon, after approximately 160 kilometers of racing. The Muro will also host the day’s second King of the Mountains sprint. With just three days to go before the grand finale in Rome, it is easy to predict that the fate of the 2026 edition of the Giro could be decided on the roads of the Northeast. And the Muro di Ca’ del Poggio, after the unforgettable passages in 2024 and 2025, will once again take center stage.
But that’s not all: just three days later, on Sunday, May 31, the Giro d’Italia Women will also pass over the Muro. The spotlight will be on Stage 2 (of nine), starting from H-Farm in Roncade and finishing in Caorle. Once again this year, the Muro will host both events organized by RCS.
“The Prosecco Hills stage will represent one of the highlights of the 2026 Giro d’Italia,” comments Alberto Stocco, the driving force behind Ca’ del Poggio. “The third consecutive passage over the Muro and, three days later, the return of the Giro d’Italia Women, is a dream come true and a source of great pride: thanks to those who believed in it, especially the Veneto Region and Luca Zaia, who have always seen the San Pietro di Feletto climb as a key driver in promoting our magnificent hills, the symbol of slow, sustainable, human-scale tourism that easily identifies with cycling, but which on October 19, 2025, also reopened to running, with the third edition of the Ca’ del Poggio Run. We are working together with local associations and volunteers to prepare the great pink celebration that on May 28 will make this Giro passage unforgettable, and to warmly welcome the Giro d’Italia Women as well.”
For the Corsa Rosa, this will be the ninth passage over the Muro di Ca’ del Poggio, following its acclaimed appearances in 2009, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2020, 2022, 2024, and 2025. Including four passages of the Giro d’Italia Women (2014, 2017, 2025, and 2026) and two of the Giro d’Italia Under 23 (2018 and 2021), next season the Muro di Ca’ del Poggio will have hosted Italy’s major cycling tours no fewer than 15 times.
The Muro di Ca’ del Poggio — the only climb officially certified by the Italian Cycling Federation, twinned since 2016 with the Muur di Grammont and since 2018 with the Mur-de-Bretagne — boasts unique characteristics. It stretches just over one kilometer on fully paved road, with an average gradient of 15% and peaks reaching 19%. A sharp, almost brutal ramp that in 2026 is once again set to be among the most eagerly awaited moments of the Giro d’Italia.
A true spectacle that promises to recreate the magic of the more than twenty thousand fans who, in the past two editions, lined the vineyards to cheer the riders. A vertical thrill and a stage unlike any other in the world. The countdown starts today: see you on May 28. And then an encore with the Giro d’Italia Women. A double act that already smells of legend.
