At Longarone Fiere the natural environment at 360 degrees in the spotlight

“Hunting, fishing and nature” is back, three days of insights
«We enhance the mountains through wildlife heritage management activities»
De Lorenzi: «We aim to consolidate the event and further increase participation»

118 exhibitors, 138 brands from 12 Italian regions and 5 foreign countries (Hungary, Germany, Austria, San Marino and Lithuania). But also a wide calendar of conferences, focus and insights. These are some of the numbers of “Hunting, fishing and nature”, an exhibition of products and services for hunting, sport fishing and the outdoors, on stage at Longarone Fiere Dolomiti from 11 to 13 April. A well-established event, organized in close collaboration with the Province of Belluno, which this year reaches its 23rd edition.
“This year too, it will be a fair of great in-depth analysis,” explained the vice president of the Province, Silvia Calligaro, delegate for hunting and fishing matters, in a press conference. “The management of these functions has been delegated by the Region to the Province by virtue of the excellent work carried out in the territory by our offices and the collaboration with the hunting world. This will be precisely the objective of “Hunting, fishing and nature” this year too: to give value to the mountains also through those who care for the mountains and make them habitable. Hunters and fishermen, attentive to the environment, play a fundamental role in managing wildlife heritage»

ALLIANCE WITH AGRICULTURE
A task that was also underlined by the president of Coldiretti Belluno (and member of the board of directors of Longarone Fiere Dolomiti) Chiara Bortolas: «After Agrimont, with a focus on the world of agriculture, we shift our attention to the world of hunting and fishing, which are precious allies of the primary sector». «We will focus on this alliance at the opening of the fair, Friday 11 April, with a conference on the game meat supply chain» underlined Bortolas. «It is an area that we must work on: game must become a resource for the territory, not a problem. This supply chain can help reduce the number of excess animals within the province and support the work of farmers. And then, it also represents the first step towards the issue of food security».

FISHING TOURISM
“Hunting, fishing and nature” will begin on 11 April. The inauguration will be on Saturday 12th, at noon. And during the three days of the fair, various in-depth studies will be offered, including one dedicated to fishing tourism (Saturday 12th at 5 pm), in collaboration with the Province, Fishing Basins and Dmo Dolomiti Bellunesi. In recent years, in fact, we have increasingly seen the phenomenon of passionate fishermen coming from outside to use hook and line on the Belluno waterways.

28th HUNTER’S FESTIVAL
One of the highlights, as per tradition, will be the Hunter’s Festival, organized by the hunting districts, this year in its 28th edition. An entire pavilion will be filled with hunting trophies from the last hunting season and food stands with typical dishes and products. The novelty this year is that in addition to the 67 Belluno reserves, other hunting reserves in the Veneto mountains will also be present, namely those of the Treviso foothills and the Veronese Lessinia.
“To complete the offer of “Hunting, fishing and nature” there will be the national taxidermy competition” concluded the CEO of Longarone Fiere Dolomiti, Giovanni De Lorenzi. “This fair, born in the early 2000s, has achieved excellent numbers over the years. This year, with 14,500 square meters of exhibition space and a truly rich calendar. We expect, for this reason, a further increase in participation, in addition to the consolidation of this one-of-a-kind event”.
