Ca’ del Poggio Run, solidarity triumphs

The proceeds of the running event that debuted on 26 November were handed over today in San Pietro di Feletto: a total of 3,300 euros were donated to the Figli di Maria Antonietta Bernardi Foundation of Conegliano and the Zuppa di Sasso Association of Nervesa della Battaglia. The date of the 2024 edition has been made official: it will be run on 20 October

San Pietro di Feletto (Treviso), 21 December 2023 – Sport, territory and solidarity. Lots of solidarity. Today, at Ca’ del Poggio Ristorante & Resort, the proceeds of the inaugural edition of the Ca’ del Poggio Run, the running event that on 26 November crossed the hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, also running along the famous Wall, were officially donated.

The presidents of the seven sports clubs organising the Ca’ del Poggio Run (Fuel to Run, E20Run, Cimavilla Running Team, G.P. La Piave, Running Team Conegliano, Scuola di Maratona Vittorio Veneto and Amici di Lutrano), together with Alberto Stocco of Ca’ del Poggio Ristorante & Resort, handed over a cheque for 1. 650 euro to each of the two associations receiving the solidarity contribution: the Figli di Maria Antonietta Bernardi Foundation of Conegliano, which deals with the education, assistance and care of minors in situations of social hardship, and the Zuppa di Sasso Association, based in Nervesa della Battaglia, which provides consultancy and support to parents, teachers, educators and operators involved in behavioural and learning disorders of the age of development.

The ceremony was also attended by Mario Secolo, president of the Figli di Maria Antonietta Bernardi Foundation, and Maria Rosa Tomietto, head of the Zuppa di Sasso Association.

As far as the Figli di Maria Antonietta Bernardi Foundation is concerned, the contribution of the Ca’ del Poggio Run will be allocated to the management of residential, semi-residential and home-based services for minors, activities that represent the association’s focus, and to initiatives to support and sustain parenting, with home-based educational interventions, training events in the area and meetings in schools.

In the case of the Zuppa di Sasso Association, the donation made by the Ca’ del Poggio Run will instead be used to organise a series of training events to be held in the municipality of San Pietro di Feletto. The format, entitled ‘Awake as a Cricket’, consists of evening meetings open to all those who work with children and adolescents, aimed at promoting the development of a true culture of welcome, knowledge and inclusion.

The 2023 edition of the Ca’ del Poggio Run thus successfully goes into the archives, making an appointment for next year, when it will be run on 20 October, again in the name of sport, territory and solidarity.
