The origins of Torri del Benaco date back to the dawn of time. Already in Roman times it was an important strategic center, thanks to its position on the lake route that linked Peschiera to Riva. The medieval appearance that characterizes the village today is mainly due to the fortifications built by the Scaligeri, lords of Verona, who transformed Torri into an impregnable stronghold.
