Le Manzane donates a cheque for 16,000 euros to Enpa for our four-legged friends

Yesterday the Balbinot family handed over the proceeds of the 11th Solidarity Harvest to the Scuola Enologica di Conegliano. The bottles of Prosecco Superiore sold at Christmas have financed the Social Project of the Ente Nazionale Protezione Animali (National Animal Protection Agency) of Treviso

The owners of the Le Manzane winery, Ernesto Balbinot, his wife Silvana and their children Marco and Anna handed over a cheque for €16,022.80 yesterday morning to the provincial president of Enpa, Massimo Bordoni. The event was hosted by the Istituto Statale Superiore G. B. Cerletti of Conegliano.
The sum is the fruit of the 11th edition of the Vendemmia Solidale, Festa e Beneficenza nella Terra del Prosecco Superiore (Solidarity Harvest, Festival and Charity in the Land of Prosecco Superiore), which took place last 11 September among the Glera rows of the San Pietro di Feletto (TV) estate. The event was organised by the Le Manzane winery in collaboration with the Ente Nazionale Protezione Animali, Treviso Section. Around 500 people took part in the grape harvesting day. 92.20 quintals of Glera grapes were harvested to be vinified and made into sparkling wine separately. A percentage of the proceeds from the pre-Christmas sale of the bottles of Prosecco Superiore obtained, together with the entire proceeds of the day, was donated to Enpa.
“I would like to thank the Le Manzane winery for choosing this location,” said Cerletti’s head teacher, Mariagrazia Morgan, “which is a bit of a symbol, as it trains all the technicians who will later work in this sector. Moreover, I congratulate myself, on behalf of the entire institute, for the purpose chosen. The wineries in our area, thanks to the work done over all these years, have become qualified realities, producing wines of the highest quality. What is important is this attention to the associations in the area to support them and to lend a hand to those who, at this time, may be in need of solidarity”.
“It has been a pleasure and an honour for me to accompany this project,” said the deputy mayor of San Pietro di Feletto, Loris Dalto, “I believe for all the 11 appointments for the delivery of the proceeds of the solidarity grape harvest. The Le Manzane winery is a sensitive company that knows how to give back to the territory through this initiative. The non-profit associations benefit from these proceeds, which enable them to carry out important projects in the social field’.
“Today we are writing the last page of this beautiful project,” explained Ernesto Balbinot, his wife Silvana Ceschin together with their children Marco and Anna, “we are happy to contribute to financing the ‘caregiving’ activities that the structures of the local branch of the Ente Nazionale Protezione Animali (National Animal Protection Agency) provide for people who are in a difficult situation.”

“On behalf of all Enpa volunteers,” said the provincial president, Massimo Bordoni, “I would like to thank the Le Manzane winery for its important support of our Social Project to guarantee a dignified life to helpless and voiceless creatures. From January 2023 to date, we have managed 56 dogs, helping as many families who for economic or health reasons are unable to care for and maintain their four-legged friends. Some of them we have had to take in, while others we have been able to manage directly with their families. In addition to the economic crisis, with many families unable to make ends meet, there are also the usual cunning people who pretend to be in trouble in order to abandon their pets”.
Numerous partners and sponsors have shared the charitable objectives of the 2022 solidarity grape harvest: Ama Crai, Antenna Tre, Arti Grafiche Conegliano, Banca Prealpi SanBiagio, Battistella Capsule, Dersut Caffe’, Distilleria Fratelli Brunello, Foto Francesco Galifi, Generalvetri, Icas, Ondulkart, Pasticceria Alpago, Ristorante Relais Ca’ del Poggio, Rotas, Savno Servizi Ambientali Veneto Nord Orientale, S. Bernardo Tappi Spumante, S’Paul n’ Co. Design and Studio Cloè.
The initiative was sponsored by the Veneto Region, the Province of Treviso and the municipalities of San Pietro di Feletto, Conegliano and Valdobbiadene with the support of the Consorzio Tutela Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore, the social promotion association XI di “Marca” and the Club n° 40 Frecce Tricolori Conegliano.

ENPA, NATIONAL ANIMAL PROTECTION AGENCY – SECTION OF TREVISO
The Treviso branch of the Ente Nazionale Protezione Animali (National Animal Protection Agency), thanks to the support of 250 people, including volunteers and sympathisers, takes care of about 1600 animals and finds homes for hundreds of dogs every year.
