Veneto on the podium at the Tourism Oscars: it is the Italian destination preferred by tourists

“The data do not lie and those on Veneto prove that we are the Italian tourist destination with the best online reputation, the one with an overall sentiment of 86.90 out of 100. This data reflects the scrupulous regional strategic planning, which in recent years has favored actions aimed at constantly improving the offer, thanks to the contribution of operators, investments and the fruitful collaboration developed between our Federated Tourist Observatory and The Data Appeal Company, which allows us to constantly monitor satisfaction with hospitality and welcome. The Oscar of tourist destinations is assigned based on a ranking that is based on millions of contents published online: data that comes from the analysis of over 200 generalist, sector and industry web platforms and portals and social media: this makes the sample widely representative of the points of interest spread throughout the Italian territory. In particular, 32 million “digital traces” were examined, allowing the monitoring of 797 thousand points of interest, highlighting how and to what extent Veneto is preferred by Italian and international visitors for the variety of tourist attractions offered, both artistic-cultural and active outdoor holidays with active outdoor holiday experiences, sports, nature and slow approaches, supported by a high standard of quality in services”.

With these words, the regional councilor for Tourism, Federico Caner, announces the award assigned to the Region as the tourist destination that has obtained the best online performances, standing out in the eyes of tourists for the general perception of the offer, the quality of hospitality, services and overall experience.

The Oscars of tourism, now in their ninth edition, are a consolidated event organized by The Data Appeal Company – Almawave Group within the TTG Travel Experience, the leading event in Italy for the promotion of international tourism, inaugurated today in Rimini.

“On the podium, among the most popular destinations for foreigners on holiday in Italy, there are also the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene (2nd place) and in the top ten of the most popular attractions there are both the Rialto Bridge (in seventh place) and the Verona Arena (10th). The great success achieved this year by Veneto is attributable to the ability to integrate qualitative data with quantitative and economic data: an activity that allows us to monitor performance and adopt targeted actions to meet the needs of an increasingly mature and evolved tourist – continues Caner -. This type of analysis is the result of the collaboration between the Veneto Federated Regional Tourism Observatory and The Data Appeal Company, which constantly and in real time provides feedback on the perception of tourists regarding our destination. The data collected indicates a high level of satisfaction with hospitality and welcome, as well as a significant variety of tourist attractions present throughout the Veneto region”.
