Le Manzane Winery launches three new wines: a return to its roots with a green approach

The Treviso-based winery debuts at the upcoming Vinitaly with labels that highlight Bianchetta, a native grape of the area, and Merlot, a variety symbolic of the family’s history

San Pietro di Feletto, April 3, 2026. Three new wines and a single vision: to tell the story of the territory with passion, consistency, and authenticity, without forgetting its roots. Le Manzane winery will officially present at the next Vinitaly (Verona, April 12–15, Hall 5, Stand F5) a pure Bianchetta and two different expressions of Merlot, both capable of delivering emotion.

Sparkling wines remain the beating heart of the Treviso-based company, one of the most dynamic and interesting players in the Conegliano Valdobbiadene wine scene, but the work of the Balbinot family, owners of the estate, has never been limited to a single interpretation of the territory.

“We strongly believe in the grape varieties that truly represent it, in all their expressions,” explains Ernesto Balbinot, owner of Le Manzane winery. “The choice to vinify Bianchetta, a historic variety of our hills, stems precisely from this: the desire to bring back to life a native grape, often overlooked, yet capable of expressing finesse, freshness, and authenticity. Alongside this, there is our tradition with Merlot, a grape variety that is part of our family’s agricultural history.”

“The two Merlots, originating from different parcels, vintages, and winemaking choices, express two souls of the same variety: one more immediate, focused on the freshness of the fruit, balance, and drinkability; the other stems from a more careful grape selection and longer aging, which gives it greater structure, depth, and aging potential,” Ernesto Balbinot concludes.

“Bianchetta is also part of a project dedicated to sustainable packaging,” adds Anna Balbinot, Head of Communication and Marketing at Le Manzane. “We have chosen to use lighter bottles made with 77% recycled glass, in order to reduce the weight of the material and consequently the environmental impact related to both production and transport.”

“The upcoming Vinitaly,” Anna Balbinot continues, “will also be an opportunity to present Fuscato in a vegan version. In fact, our production philosophy has long been oriented toward practices that respect this approach. With this wine, we have simply decided to highlight and make explicit a path we have already been pursuing in the winery.”

ORGANOLEPTIC CHARACTERISTICS

On the palate, Bianchetta is smooth, fresh, and mineral, with notes of white-fleshed fruit, highlighted by an elegant hint of pear that leads into a harmonious and persistent finish. Merlot, immediate and straightforward, reveals itself on the nose with intense notes of cherry and sour cherry, enriched by nuances of violet and a light spicy touch. Fuscato, also made from Merlot grapes, already suggests its greater complexity in its name. On the nose, it expresses rich, enveloping aromas of ripe red fruit, where sour cherry, marasca cherry, and red fruit jam stand out, accompanied by notes of cocoa, light toasting, and an elegant spicy background, with a slightly herbaceous hint.

The Le Manzane winery is located in San Pietro di Feletto (Treviso), halfway between the Dolomites and Venice, in the hilly area of the province of Treviso, at the heart of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore hills, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site on July 7, 2019. The family-run company has been deeply rooted in the Treviso area as a producer for over 40 years. The winery distributes both in Italy and abroad, reaching more than 30 countries.
