Marca Carnivals, a weekend of parades in Casale sul Sile, Villorba, and Pianzano

Second weekend of events for the traditional festival, which this year will visit 23 municipalities, involving one hundred floats and masked groups, and 9,000 participants.

The Marca Carnivals season began last Sunday: over ten thousand people attended the parades in Tarzo and Pieve del Grappa. A riot of music, masks, and confetti will be repeated this weekend in three other towns in the province of Treviso: Saturday, January 24th in Casale sul Sile, and Sunday, January 25th in Villorba and Pianzano di Godega Sant’Urbano. A record-breaking season is thus about to get underway. The Marca Carnivals numbers? One hundred floats and masked groups, nearly 9,000 participants, 21 parades, and six family events will involve 23 municipalities, with at least 300,000 spectators expected along the streets and squares hosting the Carnival events. Here are the details of the three weekend events.

CASALE SUL SILE – The floats return to parade in Casale sul Sile after 40 years. On Saturday, January 24th, starting at 2:30 pm, accompanied by speaker Federico Campodall’Orto, the streets of the town center will fill with color, music, and fantasy for an event organized by the Carnevalando group and the Mens Civica association, in collaboration with Carnevali di Marca and the Casale sul Sile municipal administration. The parade will be opened by the historic Onda Azzurra Majorettes Group from Jesolo. The floats will be followed by the Silea Youth Group (“Spring”), the San Giuseppe Youth Group (“Lilo and Stitch”), the Mignagola Youth Group (“The Mexicans”), the Aps Fuorigiri Group float from Losson della Battaglia (“Wreck-It Ralph”), the Sant’Angelo Pro Loco float (“Uncle Scrooge and the Treasure That Doesn’t Shine”), the Roncade Carnival Friends Association float (“The Dancing Tribe”), the Musestre Simpatia Group float (“Fasten your seatbelts… the fun’s about to begin”), the Maserada Joy Group float (“A Sea of ​​Ideas”), the Quei de Quarto float from Quarto d’Altino (“Spread your wings and take flight towards happiness”), and the SimpaBersa float from San Stino di Livenza (“Dancing with the Gods”).

VILLORBA – In Villorba, on Sunday, January 25th, organized by Carnevali di Marca and sponsored by the municipal administration, the parade of allegorical floats—accompanied by the voice of Silvia Sartorel—will begin at 2:00 p.m. from Piazza Cadorna in Fontane. The procession, accompanied by the voice of Silvia Sartorel, will pass through the center of Fontane and arrive in Piazza Aldo Moro in Carità di Villorba. The parade will be opened by the “Albino Gagno” Municipal Band, founded in 1948, the longest-running association in Villorba, and by the Trevigiano Folklore Group. This year, the parade of allegorical floats will be held in the hamlet of Pianzano, presented by Roberto Biz, and will be organized by the Pro Loco in collaboration with the Gruppo Alpini, the Avis section, the municipal administration, and Carnevali di Marca. The parade will begin at 2:30 pm, but the party, with appetizers and hot sandwiches, will begin at 11 am. The parade will be opened by the Cordignano Splendidi Eventi association (“Scooby Doo & the Mystery Machine”).
