The magic of healthy artisanal ice-cream.
A one-of-a-kind event, where indulgence meets the science of wellness.
A special evening and a new frontier for artisanal gelato supported by scientific research. This is the summary of the event, which will be held next Monday, August 25th, from 8:30 pm at the Gelateria delle Terme in Abano Terme, in the province of Padua (the last available spots can be reserved by calling 049.667203).
The program includes exclusive creations made live, with natural ingredients designed to boost the immune system and promote mental balance, a tasting free for all registered participants, and a special gelato for children. Those who registered in advance will be able to share their opinions and contribute to research into the development of healthy ice cream.
Eleven ice cream flavors will be available for tasting: milk chocolate and water chocolate (sorbet), Omega 3 from algae and fish, Bancha green tea, elderflower with vitamin D, collagen with mixed fruit tea, withania ginseng, turmeric and ginger, quercetin with vitamin C, and silver fir.
The event is part of a project promoted by Longarone Fiere Dolomiti and the International Artisan Gelato Exhibition in collaboration with the Institute for Biomedical Research and Innovation of the National Research Council (CNR-IRIB) on neurogastronomy and the combination of scientific innovation and artisanal ice cream. Master gelato maker Filippo Bano, president of the GA – National Committee for the Defense and Promotion of Artisanal Gelato – and GAT – Triveneto Artisan ice cream Makers, will oversee the production of the gelato. Naturally, the CNR (National Research Council) will be responsible for the scientific aspect, led by Francesco Meneguzzo, a researcher at the CNR-IBE and a member of the Neurogastronomy research group. This is the first Italian group in this new scientific discipline, coordinated by researcher Domenico Nuzzo, which combines neuroscience, psychology, gastronomy, and culture to explore the potential and impact of food from a cognitive, sensorial, and emotional perspective.
Giovanni De Lorenzi, CEO of the Fair, said he was “very satisfied with the collaboration with the CNR, which allows us to develop a trade fair promotion program for products eagerly awaited by consumers.”
Additional flavors of Wellness ice cream will be available for tasting at the MIG in Longarone, open to the public on Sunday, November 30th and to industry professionals until December 3rd.
