On Sunday 25 May, the Governor of Veneto will also be present on the iconic climb of the Prosecco hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene for the passage of the Giro

San Pietro di Feletto (TV), 23 May 2025 – Cycling enthusiasts are ready to climb the Muro di Ca’ del Poggio to applaud the passage of the Giro d’Italia, which on Sunday 25 May will return to the iconic climb of the Prosecco hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene for the eighth time. Also announced among those present is the Governor of Veneto, Luca Zaia, who has always believed in the promotional value of the Muro di Ca’ del Poggio and this year too he will not fail to join the thousands of enthusiasts drawn to the vineyards of San Pietro di Feletto by the Grande Festa Rosa that accompanies each passage of the Giro. On Sunday, great guests from the world of sport, entertainment and business will also be at Ca’ del Poggio. Expected, among others, are Francesco Moser, the president of Imoco Volley Piero Garbellotto, Fausto Pinarello, the football coach Gianni De Biasi, the former referee Gabriele Gava, the mayor of Treviso Mario Conte, the president of the Province of Belluno Roberto Padrin, the president of the Association for the Heritage of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene Marina Montedoro and the director of the association Giuliano Vantaggi, the artists Roberto Bertazzon and Paolo Soccal, the managers Enrico and Matteo Zoppas, respectively president of Acqua San Benedetto Spa and president of the ICE Agency. Also present will be a delegation from Veneto Creators, the Region’s project that selects the best content creators to promote the area through Instagram and TikTok. Social coverage, therefore, assured.

A WALL OF PASSION – We are among the vineyards of San Pietro di Feletto, in the Treviso area, halfway between Venice and the Dolomites. The Muro di Ca’ del Poggio is a 1.1 km long climb, entirely paved, with an average gradient of over 12% and peaks of 19%. A pure spectacle, in the heart of a land where cycling represents a passion without borders. Suffice it to say that, on the occasion of the passage of the Giro d’Italia 2024, on a rainy day, the presence of twenty thousand fans was estimated on the Muro di Ca’ del Poggio. A party within a party that promises to be renewed again this year, thanks to the announced Sunday of good weather and the rich program that awaits all fans on the Muro.

THE GREAT PINK PARTY – While waiting for the cyclists to pass by and then throughout the day, the climb of San Pietro di Feletto will be enriched with food and wine stands (churrasco and spit), music from the DJs of Radio Company, media partner of the event, great guests from the world of sport and entertainment and exceptional testimonials. Access to the Wall will be free as always, with large parking lots at the foot of the climb. A large screen will also be available to follow the live broadcast of the entire stage. The Great Pink Party will see the local associations in the front row: the Pro Loco of San Pietro di Feletto, the Polisportiva Valcervano of Bagnolo, the Quarta de Otobre, the Pro San Michele of Feletto, the Amici Antica Pieve, MotoProsecco and the Gruppo Giovani of Bagnolo. Also involved were the boys from Dinamis FC, a Conegliano football team founded in 2015 with the aim of combining sport and social goals.

THE STAGE OF THE GIRO – The stage of the 108th Giro d’Italia expected on the Muro on Sunday 25 May is number 15 and will run from Fiume Veneto (Pordenone) to Asiago (Vicenza) for a total of 219 km. The Muro di Ca’ del Poggio (242 metres of maximum altitude) is located at kilometre 44.7 and will be accompanied by the first Gran Premio della Montagna of the day. Curves and counter-curves among the vineyards will liven up the stage on the road towards Grappa and Asiago. The arrival of the Carovana Rosa on the Muro di Ca’ del Poggio is scheduled for 11.07, while the transit of the riders will take place starting from 12.35. The Muro di Ca’ del Poggio also holds a record: together with the climb of Alpe San Pellegrino in Tuscany (11th stage), it offers the steepest average gradient of this edition of the Giro: 12.3%. An authentic vertical spectacle.

POGGY’S RETURN – He has just turned one and is also ready to take part in the Grande Festa Rosa. After his debut at the Giro d’Italia 2024, Poggy, the friendly mascot of Ca’ del Poggio, is also returning to the Muro. A pink lion, symbol of the Veneto region and of the passion that binds this land to cycling. Poggy is a lover of the Prosecco hills. He was born on May 25, 2024 and, like last year, on the day of the Giro he will make himself available to all enthusiasts, and children in particular, to contribute to the festive atmosphere that will accompany the passage of the Corsa Rosa. At his side, this year, he will also have Corty, the red squirrel, mascot of the Cortina Foundation. Double celebration.

AMONG THE 100 CLIMBS IN ITALY – There is the Stelvio, the undisputed number 1, and there is the Sellaronda, the most famous ring of the Dolomites. There is the Gavia, which has given us epic pages, and there is the Mortirolo, one of the most famous climbs in the world. And then, in the Olympus of great differences in altitude, there is it too: the Muro di Ca’ del Poggio. The climb of San Pietro di Feletto was included in the book “Salite d’Italia – Le 100 scalate in bici da fare almeno una volta nella vita”, written by Gabriele Brunetti and Alberto Ferraris. A work that collects, in the words of the authors, “the dream climbs, those – precisely – that should be done (‘must-do’) at least once in a lifetime”. “The joy that comes from completing a climb by bike is indescribable,” writes Davide Cassani in the preface. “And it is important for a cyclist to satisfy this thirst for the mountains. Do it fast or slow? It doesn’t matter. It doesn’t change. The important thing is to do it.”

ITALY, BELGIUM AND FRANCE UNITED BY A WALL – Since 2016, the Muro di Ca’ del Poggio has been twinned with the Muro di Grammont, the legendary climb of the Tour of Flanders. An initiative born with the aim of generating new opportunities for the promotion of the territories, thanks to the creation of a European circuit that brings together the walls linked to the history of great cycling. With this in mind, on 12 July 2018 the twinning with the Mûr-de-Bretagne, another famous climb that has made the history of international cycling, was also officially sanctioned. A delegation from the municipality of Geraardsbergen, under whose jurisdiction the Muro di Grammont falls, will be present for the Giro. A large group of fans of Belgian Wout Van Aert has also been announced, led by former champion of the 70s and 80s Rudy Pevenage.

A PINK HISTORY – The Giro d’Italia has already passed through the Muro di Ca’ del Poggio – the only climb certified by the Italian Cycling Federation – seven times: in 2009, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2020, 2022 and 2024. The climb of San Pietro di Feletto also hosted the 2010 Italian Professional Championship, which took place on the Muro over 11 laps. In 2018 and 2021, the Giro d’Italia Under 23 climbed the Muro, while in 2012 and 2015 the climb of San Pietro di Feletto was the site of the Giro Rosa. The passage of the 2023 Gravel World Championship is also particularly significant. Furthermore, several cycling events include a passage on the Muro during the year. Some examples? The international youth races of San Vendemiano, San Michele di Feletto and Solighetto, as well as the Prosecco Cycling, a top event dedicated to amateur enthusiasts. Not only that: next July 9, the Giro Women will also pass over the Muro, with the spotlight on the fourth stage that will end in Pianezze. Since 2023, the Wall has also been a passage point for a foot race, the Ca’ del Poggio Run: over two thousand people have registered for the 2024 event, the third edition will be held on 19 October 2025.
