Pieve di Soligo dresses in pink: the Giro d’Italia arrives among UNESCO hills, traditions, and the historic Giant Spiedo

Excitement is growing in Pieve di Soligo for the passage of the Giro d’Italia, ready to transform the heart of the Treviso Altamarca into a great celebration of sport, tradition, and togetherness.

The town will welcome the famous pink race surrounded by the unique landscape of the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene hills, a UNESCO World Heritage site and symbol of a territory renowned worldwide for the beauty of its scenery and for the excellence of its Prosecco Superiore DOCG wines. Television coverage will bring into the homes of millions of viewers breathtaking views of vineyards, villages, and panoramic roads, representing one of the most evocative postcards of the Veneto region.

Pieve di Soligo boasts a strong tradition connected to sport and cycling. The roads of the Altamarca have long been a destination for both professional and amateur cyclists, attracted by routes immersed in nature and climbs that have become iconic in Northeastern Italy’s cycling culture.

Pieve di Soligo is also the birthplace of Andrea Zanzotto, who drew inspiration for many of his works from these very landscapes. But the day dedicated to the Giro will also be an opportunity to showcase the most authentic and popular side of the local community.

On Wednesday, May 27, the “Pink Village” will officially open, offering a program of events and entertainment that will animate Piazza Caduti nei Lager until May 30. Among the most anticipated events is Thursday, May 28, with the opening of the historic “Spiedo Gigante d’Alta Marca” (Giant Alta Marca Spit Roast), a symbolic event celebrating local conviviality and the gastronomic traditions of the area, accompanied by music, entertainment, and games.

On Friday, May 29, The Veneziano Brothers will perform for fans of electronic and dance music. The celebration will then continue until May 30 with the MTB Eliminator Series competition.

For four days, Pieve di Soligo will become a meeting point for sport, culture, landscape, and popular traditions!
