Prosecco Cycling 2025: a unique ride through UNESCO hills

The countdown is on for the 22nd edition of Prosecco Cycling, taking place on Sunday, September 28, 2025, with the start line set in Piazza Marconi, Valdobbiadene. This iconic cycling event will bring together over 2,600 riders from 29 countries, covering a 100 km route through the rolling hills of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG area, blending sport, scenery, and fine food.

A unique format: the slower, the better

Prosecco Cycling stands out for its non-competitive spirit, featuring timed climbs and gourmet stops. The big novelty for 2025: riders arriving before 11:40 a.m. won’t be ranked, reinforcing the event’s motto – “ride slow, look up, and enjoy the view.”

Growing numbers

Over 800 international riders are expected from 4 continents and 17 Italian regions, with the event generating around 2,000 overnight stays – 70% of participants will stay at least two nights. The route passes through all 15 municipalities in the DOCG area, with a total elevation gain of 1,510 meters.

Climbs, teams, and camaraderie

The individual ranking is based on three timed climbs (Via Busi, Ca’ del Poggio, and Collalto), but there’s also a focus on teamwork with special team rankings for the most synchronized and creative groups. The celebration peaks with the arrival of the last cyclist, welcomed with a giant cake and Prosecco toast.

Special guests and highlights

Once again, the event will welcome prominent guests from cycling and business, including Claudio Chiappucci, Marco Saligari, and managers from Silicon Valley. A DJ set by Joe T Vannelli in Piazza Marconi (12:15–1:15 p.m.) will add to the festivities.

International and sustainable vision

On Friday, September 26, Villa Sandi will host the International Meeting on Sustainable Mobility, with delegations from Japan, the USA, Canada, and South Africa. Japan’s Rainbow Bridge Ride in Tokyo will join the World Cycling Sustainable Events project, launched by Prosecco Cycling and already supported by top events in New York, Vancouver, and Cape Town.

A taste of the territory

Cyclists won’t just ride – they’ll eat well too. The Grand Tour Gourmet offers €15 meal vouchers for selected local restaurants. Along the route, gourmet stops will serve local delicacies like Tiramisù, scampi, tripe, and Prosecco DOCG. After the finish line, culinary students will offer tastings of Casatella Trevigiana DOP, Prosciutto Veneto DOP, Sile trout, and more.

A territory-wide celebration

Behind the event, over 1,300 staff and volunteers work to ensure safety and smooth logistics. Prosecco Cycling is much more than a bike ride – it’s a celebration of cycling, culture, tourism, and sustainability, deeply rooted in the local community and its values.
