“San Martino in Veneto”: the scent of autumn turns into a celebration

On November 11th, when “every must becomes wine,” Veneto celebrates San Martino, one of the most heartfelt festivals in rural tradition.

It’s the time of roasting chestnuts, tasting new wine, and telling stories around the fireplace.
In many squares, bonfires are lit, traditional sweets shaped like knights or horses are baked, and the legend of Martino, who, seeing a poor man freezing, cut his cloak in two to warm him, is commemorated.

And like every year, San Martino summer arrives, those days of sudden sunshine that give us a little more warmth before winter.

💬 How do you celebrate San Martino? Chestnuts, wine, or a stroll through the golden vineyards? 🍁
