At MIG Experience 2025, from November 30th to December 2nd, the region’s food and wine excellences were showcased at the Veneto Region stand. Welcoming the public—from gelato professionals to enthusiasts of the frozen dessert, from food bloggers and influencers to national and international media—were DOP and IGP products, “Quality Verified” fruit, and DOC and DOCG wines.
Master gelato maker Marco Reato coordinated the presentations and program: “This was a different edition of MIG than usual, yet there was a much higher turnout than expected. At the Veneto Region stand, we presented 15 flavors and consumed over 150 kilos of gelato. Made with all the finest local products, expertly crafted by master artisans such as Simone Vallotto, Simone de Nardi, Costantino Sanelli, and Andrea Branchini. And by the group of Italian Academic Gelato Artisans who helped make this Veneto experience truly captivating. From tastings of all the local products transformed into gelato to the most unexpected fusion combinations, such as Verona PGI peach with Japanese sake kasu from Hosihitaro Asada. From fresh tagliolini with Veneto truffle accompanied by Grana Padano PDO gelato, supported by chef and farmer-cook Marco Casagrande, to the Honey of Rebirth—produced at the pilot site of the Life Vaia project managed by Veneto Agricoltura in Cansiglio. – integrated with Veneto kiwi in an alcoholic granita, the base of a cocktail expertly crafted by bartender Stefano Canova in a hot-cold interplay.

It was also an educational opportunity for the students of Enaip Veneto in Longarone, who at the stand found themselves experimenting with the finest raw materials, guided by master craftsmen. There were Cologna Veneta almond biscuits, kiwis, pears, and “Qualità Verificata” apples, Garda DOP olive oil, Piave DOP cheese, Casatella Trevigiana DOP, Treviso radicchio DOP, Recioto della Valpolicella DOCG, Verona peach DOP, Veneto truffle, Grana Padano DOP, Asiago DOP and Monte Veronese DOP cheeses, Po Delta rice DOP, Marostica cherries DOP, and the ever-present Prosecco DOC.
But what was surprising was the presence of many Japanese, who came to compete in the 55th Coppa d’Oro. They were enthusiastic about the pairings offered, and will surely repeat them upon their return to the land of the Rising Sun.
