Wall of Ca’ del Poggio, the Great Pink Party arrives

Saturday, May 25, on the occasion of the passage of the Giro d’Italia, an appointment not to be missed on the famous climb among the vineyards of San Pietro di Feletto: fun, music and great guests

San Pietro di Feletto (TV), May 21, 2024 – Everything is ready, on the Wall of Ca’ del Poggio, for the Grande Festa Rosa that will welcome the passage of the penultimate stage of the Giro d’Italia on Saturday, May 25: the famous climb among the vineyards of San Pietro di Feletto is getting ready to offer the usual spectacle of fans that has accompanied the six previous passages of the Pink Race. The last was on May 26, 2022, when 20,000 people celebrated the riders’ transit along the iconic climb of the Prosecco hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene.

The stage of the 107th Giro d’Italia expected on the Ca’ del Poggio Wall is number 20 and will run from Alpago to Bassano del Grappa for a total of 184 km. The Ca’ del Poggio Wall (242 meters maximum altitude) is located at kilometer 30.3 of the race and will be accompanied by the first Grand Prix of the Mountain of the day. The arrival of the Carovana Rosa on the Ca’ del Poggio Wall is scheduled for 11 a.m., while the passage of the riders is expected a few minutes after 12:30 p.m.

The day will be opened by a charity pedal ride in favor of “C’è Da Fare,” the association founded by Genovese actor Paolo Kessisoglu with the aim of creating psychological support projects for teenagers in difficulty (www.cedafare.org). The ride will start from Alpago following the Giro Caravan and will reach the Ca’ del Poggio Wall, involving many of the friends and supporters of “C’è Da Fare” who will then participate in the party on the Wall.

While waiting for the transit of the runners and then throughout the day, thanks also to the contribution of four local associations (Polisportiva Valcervano di Bagnolo, Quarta de Otobre, Amici Antica Pieve and Pro Loco di San Pietro di Feletto), the San Pietro di Feletto hillside will be enriched with food and wine stands (churrasco and spit), the sympathy and music of Radio Company deejays, media partner of the event, and great guests from the world of sports and entertainment.

Expected among others are Sammy Basso, cross-country skiing Olympian Silvio Fauner, two former greats like Gianni Motta and Flavio Vanzella, soccer coach Gianni De Biasi, former referee Gabriele Gava, Paralympic archery champion Oscar De Pellegrin, and Benetton Rugby players Tiziano Pasquali and Francisco Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro. There will also be a moment dedicated to the Tiramisu World Cup, with the challenge between the day’s VIP guests who will compete in the preparation of the world’s most popular Italian dessert. Access to the Grande Festa Rosa will be free, with ample parking at the foot of the Wall.

On the Wall of Ca’ del Poggio – the only climb certified by the Italian Cycling Federation – the Giro d’Italia has already passed through six times: in 2009, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2020 and 2022. The San Pietro di Feletto climb also hosted the 2010 Italian Professional Championships, which ran for 11 rounds on the Wall. In 2018 and 2021 the Giro d’Italia Under 23 climbed the Wall, while in 2012 and 2015 the San Pietro di Feletto climb was the site of the Giro Rosa’s passage. The transit of the 2023 Gravel World Championship is also particularly significant. Since last year the Wall has also been a passage point for a running race, the Ca’ del Poggio Run, whose second edition will be held on October 20.
