Last opportunity to walk in the places where Giovanni Comisso’s stories were born, admire the great beauties that adorn the city of Sile and immerse yourself in the stories that have as protagonists the artists and characters that Treviso has welcomed over centuries of history.
The cycle of guided tours by IAT Treviso (tourist office) in collaboration with the provincial committee UNPLI Treviso, entitled “Made in Treviso – Great artists and local characters”, ends on Saturday 22 March 2025.
A tour that offers participants the opportunity to discover the works of art created by local artists, both past and present, and to meet the most famous and curious characters who have linked their life and their art to the city.
Visitors will be able to admire the masterpieces left by the great Tiziano Vecellio, originally from Belluno, who created the splendid Annunciation in Treviso, kept in the Cathedral of San Pietro. We will also talk about the Treviso writer Giovanni Comisso, who lived along the picturesque Canale dei Buranelli, and how his memory is still alive in the shadow of Mario Martinelli, the work that decorates the wall overlooking the Cagnan, a waterway so dear to the Treviso people.
The tour is not limited to the artists best known to the public: you will also discover more particular figures, such as the “Trevigianizzati” Ludovico Pozzoserrato and the Blessed Enrico, together with eccentric characters and traditions linked to local folklore, including the little-known Treviso masks.
Guided tours that are proposed as a real review in search of the color linked to the art, history and traditions of the city of Treviso.
