“Spirit and Body” offers an innovative vision of the Great War and new interpretations brought to light by historical research conducted by researchers from the University of Padua, the Bruno Kessler Foundation of Trento and local history scholars.
The interactive and multisensory exhibition path represents an opportunity to reflect on how faith and food tell the story of humanity from multiple points of view: propaganda, superstition and spirituality, hunger and food logistics. Themes that can constitute important keys to interpreting the conflicts of all times, including those of our contemporary.
In dialogue with the permanent exhibition, numerous finds from private collections and prestigious museums are exhibited – such as the Italian Historical War Museum in Rovereto, the MUST-Historical Museum in Alano di Piave (TV) and the Historical War Museum 1915-1918 in Pieve del Grappa, the Civic Museum of the Armed Forces 1914-1945 in Montecchio Maggiore and the Museum of the Great War “Forte Tre Sassi” in Cortina d’Ampezzo.
The exhibition can be visited from 26 October 2024 to 31 August 2025 at the Veneto Memorial of the Great War in Montebelluna, during the opening hours of the venue.
