Black music is tinged with pink in the 2023 edition of the New Conversations – Vicenza Jazz festival.
From 10 to 20 May the kermesse entitled The Other Side, the other half of jazz, will be a tribute to the female world of jazz, with the presence of significant national and international female artists, especially of the latest generations: the Americans Nicole Mitchell, Myra Melford and Rachel Eckroth, the Greek pianist Tania Giannouli, and the French Anne Paceo and Joëlle Léandre. There are many Italian musicians and performers on the programme, starting with Zoe Pia.
In the more than one hundred concerts of the artistic programme conceived by Riccardo Brazzale, there will also be great male presences: Abdullah Ibrahim, Jan Garbarek in quartet with Trilok Gurtu, Marc Ribot, Donny McCaslin, Hamid Drake, the quartet of Fabrizio Bosso and Rosario Giuliani, the duo of Danilo Rea and Michel Godard.
The concerts will spread throughout the city, from tetaries to clubs, ancient palaces, churches, museums, cinemas, bookshops, and the streets and squares of the historic centre.
