The Giro d’Italia show returns for the eighth time to the Ca’ del Poggio Wall

It’s official: the 108th edition of the Corsa Rosa, presented today in Rome, will also pass through the symbolic climb of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. See you on Sunday, May 25, with stage number 15 from Fiume Veneto to Asiago. Then the women

The date is one of those destined to leave its mark: 05/25/2025. The third Sunday of the 108th Giro d’Italia, which will start in Albania on May 9, will also be the day of the Muro di Ca’ del Poggio, where the Corsa Rosa will pass during the fifteenth stage, the Fiume Veneto-Asiago. But it doesn’t end there: on July 9, the Giro Women will also pass over the Muro, with the spotlight on the fourth stage that will end in Pianezze.

The double news became official this afternoon, with the presentation in Rome of the 2025 edition of the two great pink cycling events. The Muro will thus be the venue for both events organized by RCS. “A choice strongly desired by the Veneto Region and in particular by President Zaia who sees the Muro as a driving force in the promotion of the territory, the symbol of slow, sustainable tourism, which is easily identified with cycling and which, last autumn, also opened up to running, with the passage of the second edition of the Ca’ del Poggio Run. We are not surprised by this return and, indeed, we are already working to set up, also this year, the great pink party that on May 25, thanks to the involvement of the world of associations and volunteers, will contribute to making the passage of the Giro unique and unforgettable”, comments Alberto Stocco, of Ca’ del Poggio.

For the Corsa Rosa this will be the eighth passage on the Muro di Ca’ del Poggio, after the applause received with the 2009, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2020, 2022 and 2024 editions. The Giro d’Italia Women will instead return to the Muro di Ca’ del Poggio for the third time, after the passages of 2014 and 2017. Also considering the two passages of the Giro d’Italia under 23 (2018 and 2021), the Muro di Ca’ del Poggio will thus arrive to have hosted the great tours of national cycling for 13 times.

Exactly one year after the last time (it was May 25, 2024), the great pink celebration among the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is therefore ready to repeat itself with what can now rightfully be defined as one of the most classic climbs of the Giro d’Italia.

The Muro di Ca’ del Poggio – the only climb officially certified by the Italian Cycling Federation, twinned since 2016 with the Muro di Grammont and since 2018 with the Mur-de-Bretagne, which in 2025 will host the finish of a stage of the Tour de France – has unique characteristics. It extends for just over a kilometer on an entirely asphalted road, with an average gradient of 15% and peaks of 19%. It is a decisive, almost violent climb, which also in 2025 is a candidate to be among the most spectacular and anticipated moments of the Giro d’Italia.

An authentic vertical spectacle (even if we are only a little over 200 meters above sea level) that promises to recreate the magic of the twenty thousand or more enthusiasts who in the last editions – last year, in the rain – accompanied the passage of the riders through the vineyards.

They will be intense days for what is considered the most cycling area in Italy: Saturday 24 May the start from Treviso of the stage that will end in Nova Gorica, Sunday 25 May the Fiume Veneto-Asiago with the passage on the Muro, Monday 26 May a rest day and finally, Tuesday 27 May, the restart from Piazzola sul Brenta with a stage that cannot fail to remember the small, great Sammy Basso, originally from nearby Tezze sul Brenta, who witnessed the passage of the Giro on the Muro di Ca’ del Poggio last year. Days of shared emotions. The Muro is ready. See you on 25 May.
