The Treviso-based winery debuts at the upcoming Vinitaly with labels showcasing Bianchetta, a native grape, and Merlot, a grape variety that symbolizes the family’s history.
San Pietro di Feletto, March 9, 2026_Three new wines and a single vision: to showcase the region with passion, consistency, and authenticity without forgetting its origins. Le Manzane will officially present its single-varietal Bianchetta and two different versions of Merlot at the upcoming Vinitaly (Verona, April 12-15, Hall 5, Stand F5), both capable of captivating visitors.
Sparkling wines remain the beating heart of the Treviso-based winery, one of the most dynamic and interesting in the Conegliano Valdobbiadene winemaking scene. However, the work of the Balbinot family, owners of the estate, has never stopped at a single interpretation of the terroir.
“We strongly believe in the grape varieties that truly represent it, in all its expressions,” explains Ernesto Balbinot, owner of the Le Manzane winery. “The decision to vinify Bianchetta, a historic grape variety of our hills, stems precisely from this: from the desire to revive a native grape, often silent, yet capable of expressing finesse, freshness, and authenticity. Alongside this, there is our tradition with Merlot, a grape variety that is part of our family’s agricultural history.”
“The two Merlots, born from different parcels, vintages, and cellar decisions, express two souls of the same grape: one more immediate, focused on the freshness of the fruit, balance, and drinkability; the other, born from a more careful selection of grapes and a longer aging, which gives it greater structure, depth, and the ability to evolve over time,” concludes Ernesto Balbinot.
“Furthermore,” continues Anna Balbinot, Head of Communications and Marketing at Le Manzane, “Bianchetta is part of a project dedicated to packaging sustainability. We have chosen to use lighter bottles, made from 77% recycled glass, thus reducing the weight of the material and, consequently, the environmental impact of both production and transportation.”
“The upcoming Vinitaly,” adds Anna Balbinot, “will also be the opportunity to present the Fuscato in a vegan version. In fact, our production philosophy has long been oriented toward practices that respect this approach. With this wine, we have simply decided to enhance and make explicit a path we are pursuing in the winery.”

TASTING NOTES
On the palate, the Bianchetta is soft, fresh, and mineral, with hints of white-fleshed fruit, including an elegant hint of pear that accompanies a harmonious and persistent finish. The Merlot, immediate and direct, reveals intense notes of cherry and black cherry on the nose, enriched with nuances of violet and a light hint of spice. The Fuscato, also made from Merlot grapes, already reveals its greater complexity as its name suggests. On the nose, it expresses rich and enveloping aromas of ripe red fruit, particularly black cherry, morello cherry, and red fruit jam, accompanied by notes of cocoa, light toasting, and an elegant spicy background, with a slightly hint of hazelnut.
Le Manzane winery is located in San Pietro di Feletto (Treviso), halfway between the Dolomites and Venice, in the hilly area of the province of Treviso, in the heart of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore hills, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site on July 7, 2019. The family-run company has been deeply rooted in the Treviso area, having been a producer for over 40 years. The winery distributes both in Italy and abroad, reaching over 30 countries.
