Running through the hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, with a stop on the iconic Muro di Ca’ del Poggio. The countdown for the Ca’ del Poggio Run is about to begin. After last year’s successful debut (two thousand participants), the running event born from the union of seven local sports clubs (Fuel to Run, E20Run, Cimavilla Running Team, G.P. La Piave, Running Team Conegliano, Scuola di Maratona Vittorio Veneto and Amici di Lutrano) will be held again on Sunday 20 October.

The 2nd Ca’ del Poggio Run will start from Piazza Cima in Conegliano, where the finish line is also scheduled, and will be divided into two routes: one 19 km long, this year offered in both a competitive and recreational version, and the other shorter and less demanding 8 km long, called Family Cross. The two routes are truly open to everyone: runners, walkers, fit walking and Nordic walking enthusiasts. Fabio Chies and Cristiano Botteon, mayors of Conegliano and San Pietro di Feletto, two of the municipalities touched by the Ca’ del Poggio Run, have also promised to be at the start, and have already received their bibs.

On Sunday 20 October they will therefore be in the front row, in Piazza Cima, together with Silvia Marangoni, 11-time world champion in roller skating, Laura Boz, Italian Gravel MW3 champion in 2024, and Alessandra Patelli, two-time Olympic rower (Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo). Three stars of Marca sports who have chosen the Ca’ del Poggio Run to spend a Sunday different from usual, running among the splendid autumn landscapes offered by the hills embroidered with vineyards.

Participants in the 19 km race will also have to pass over the Muro di Ca’ del Poggio, an iconic climb through the vineyards of San Pietro di Feletto that has become a legend for cycling enthusiasts and has also been the setting for a running race since last year. Here, where the Giro d’Italia has passed seven times (the last time on May 25th during the Alpago-Bassano del Grappa stage), athletes will find a timed climb of about one kilometer. A challenge within a challenge, which will crown the best “climbers” of the day.

The Ca’ del Poggio Run was created with the aim of promoting the area through the values of sport, friendship between sports clubs (for the first time seven different teams have joined forces to tackle the organizational challenge and today they are united in the newly formed CdPR Asd) and collaboration with local institutions and companies. Local companies in the food and wine sector and the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG wineries are involved and will enrich the refreshment points with typical and quality products. For the occasion, participants will also be able to taste the cuisine of Ca’ del Poggio: special refreshment points await them both on the Wall and after crossing the finish line, when a short walk will lead participants to the suggestive setting of the former Convent of San Francesco, where the final awards will also take place. With an additional reason to attract: the medal for all finishers of the 19 km will be a glass to wear around their neck.

The 2nd Ca’ del Poggio Run will also have charitable purposes. Part of the proceeds will go to the Fondazione Figli di Maria Antonietta Bernardi di Parè di Conegliano, which deals with the education, assistance and care of minors who are in situations of social hardship, and to the Zuppa di Sasso Association, based in Nervesa della Battaglia, which provides advice and support to parents, teachers, educators and operators involved in behavioral and learning disorders of developmental age.
