Ca Del Poggio. Vendrame in training on the roads of the Giro

After the good performance in the Giro di Romandia, the rider from Santa Lucia di Piave has pedalled on the route of the Alpago – Bassano del Grappa stage climbing also the Wall of Ca’ del Poggio that on Saturday 25th May will host the great Festa Rosa

Andrea Vendrame is ready for the Giro d’Italia. The leg is there, morale is high. After an excellent performance at the Giro di Romandia (second in the points classification and fifth in the climbers’ classification) with a couple of stages performed as a protagonist and a special prize won as the most combative athlete, this morning the 29-year-old rider from Santa Lucia di Piave trained on the roads that will host the passage of the Pink Race on Saturday 25 May.

Vendrame thus set off from Alpago and arrived in Bassano del Grappa, the starting and finishing location for the twentieth (and penultimate) stage of the 2024 edition of the Giro d’Italia, which will end in Rome the following day. An obligatory stop on the Muro di Ca’ del Poggio, the famous ascent of the Colline del Prosecco di Conegliano e Valdobbiadene (Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene), where the Corsa Rosa will also meet the first Grand Prix of the Mountain of the day, some thirty kilometres from the start.

The Giro day will be opened by a charity ride in favour of ‘C’è Da Fare’, the association founded by Genoese actor Paolo Kessisoglu with the aim of creating psychological support projects for teenagers in difficulty (www.cedafare.org). The ride will start from Alpago following the Giro d’Italia’s pink advertising caravan and will arrive at the Ca’ del Poggio Wall, involving many of the friends and supporters of ‘C’è Da Fare’ who will then take part in the party on the Wall, while waiting for the passage of the riders scheduled for 1 pm.

On the Wall of Ca’ del Poggio, two years ago, on the occasion of the last passage of the Giro, twenty thousand people applauded the passage of the riders along the road that climbs among the vineyards. And the great Festa Rosa promises to be repeated again this year.

While waiting for the passage of the runners and then throughout the day, the San Pietro di Feletto climb will be enriched with food and wine stands (churrasco and spit), the sympathy and music of the Radio Company DJs, media partner of the event, great guests from the world of sport and entertainment, and exceptional testimonials. Access will be free, with ample parking at the foot of the Wall. With the hope of applauding, among others, also Andrea Vendrame, who took the stage today, giving everyone an appointment for 25 May. An unmissable moment, with a Trevisan – hopefully – protagonist.
