Carnivals of Marca, a weekend of celebration waiting for Shrove Tuesday

Great participation in the six masked events, including float parades and family shows, staged in Zenson di Piave, Vittorio Veneto, Roncade and Treviso. The countdown for the grand finale begins

More than twenty thousand people at the parade of floats in Vittorio Veneto. The charm of the night parade in Zenson di Piave. The many applauses for the parade of papier-mâché giants in Roncade, where the presence of 5 thousand people was estimated. The enthusiasm that filled the streets and squares of Treviso, where shows by jugglers and acrobats followed one another. Waiting for Shrove Tuesday, when the allegorical floats will parade in Treviso and Conegliano, the last weekend of Carnival has given shows and emotions everywhere.

In Treviso, Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 March, the last weekend of Carnival was characterized by a long series of events for families, with a special focus on the little ones. The creativity and imagination of street artists, stilt walkers and dancers, thanks to the weekend of good weather, transformed the city into an open-air stage, dedicated to fun and fantasy. Among the great protagonists of this edition of the Treviso Carnival, Jack Nobile, a professional magician and YouTuber (his channel has more than 1.5 million subscribers and over half a billion total views) who has been performing live magic shows around the world for 12 years and teaching his art online (in 2019 he won the Moige award for the most educational YouTube channel in Italy). His shows, at the Loggia dei Cavalieri, were highly appreciated and attracted a large audience, especially young people. For the little ones, instead, there were traveling shows with the Barbamoccolo theater company and a set of thirty wooden games “of the past” in Piazzetta Aldo Moro and Piazza Rinaldi, where this morning the vote also took place for the name of the official mascot of “Treviso Green Leaf – Green City of Europe 2025”. The fox was looking for a name and the children’s choice was TREVY.

In Zenson di Piave, on Saturday 1st March, the third night parade (after Nervesa della Battaglia and Santa Lucia di Piave) of the 2025 edition of Carnevali di Marca was a great success. The illuminated allegorical floats passed through the streets of the town, arriving in front of the town hall. An evening of great charm, completed by the Carnival Party, fun and music with a popular DJ set in via Badini.

In Vittorio Veneto, the last weekend of Carnival began on the afternoon of Saturday, March 1st, when street artists, clowns and stilt walkers performed in Piazza del Popolo. Then, on Sunday, March 2nd, the long-awaited parade through the streets of the center. There were 16 floats and masked groups on the catwalk. The parade was opened by the cultural association “Yo Soy Dominicano Aquí y Allá” (“Homage to the Dominican Merenghe”). Then there is space for the group “Viva el paron dei peri” from Casella d’Asolo (“We are left in our underwear”), for the Pastoral Unit Group Le Grazie di Don Walter (“The Minions”), for the parish group of Bocca di Strada and Santa Maria (“Disney 100+1”), for the association Cordignano Splendidi Eventi (“The Flinstones”), for the Cerletti wine school (“A great wine is made in a great barrel”), for the Simpatia Cozzuolo 2nd season group (Apres Ski in Cozzuolo), for Sanvecarri (“Mi co Mario, ti co Bowser!”), for the Fon Fierun from Corbanese (“Hopi Aquila Bianca”), for the Parish Group of Nervesa della Battaglia (“Dreaming of the Caribbean”), for the Banda on tour Porcia (“Despicable Me and the Minions”), for the Coriandolando group for Pieve di Soligo (“The Jungle Book”), for the Friends of Susegana (“Super Mario”), for the Dal Santo group from Prata di Pordenone (“The 4 Seasons”), the Chions Tuttinsieme group (“Bewitched by Carnival”) and the Colombere Committee of Cusignana (“Journey to the East”).

In Roncade, again on Sunday 2 March, the spotlight will be on the 37th edition of the Roncadese Carnival, organized by the Pro Loco. Along with the parade of allegorical floats, crostoli and drinks for everyone in Piazza I Maggio and Piazza del Municipio. Opening the parade, the Contrada Santa Lucia di Castagnole group (theme: “Ancient Charm”). Following, the Asd Junior Giada Dance School (“Notti d’Oriente”), the Simpatia group of Musestre (“La giustizia italiana”), the Amici Trattori d’Epoca della Marca (“L’albero degli zoccoli”), the Amici di… Musestre (“Legends of Musestre”), the Incredibili & Friends group with the Excalibur association of Roncade (“El cirque de Ca’ Tron!”), the Tosati Dosson (“Pigiama party”), the CarnevaleInsieme group of Signoressa (“Paw Patrol”), the Asd Ginnastica Artistica Biancade, the Aps Fuorigiri group of Losson della Battaglia (“L’Oriente”), the Amici del Carnevale association of Roncade (“La nascita della Fenice”), the Cartamodelle (“Riciclando”), the Ekeh Rosemary group (“Let’s Sing Gospel Dance”), the Supersonic Band & Majorettes of Tombelle and the Crazy Wanted Country Group. Now the countdown to Shrove Tuesday begins.
