Mojito ready to drink!
If you think of a summer postcard, the subject is clear and sharp: sun, sea and a nice frozen mojito! The origins of this cocktail are very distant. It is 1500, we are in the Caribbean Sea and in particular in the “Isla de la Juventud” where, in a dark tavern, a handful of pirates and smugglers usually taste a miraculous local concoction: aguardiente (“burning water“), ancestor of the Mojito.
Made famous in the world thanks to Francis Drake and especially later to Ernest Hemingway, the name by which we know it today is shrouded in legend that associates it with “mojo”, a typical Cuban condiment, or with an African term that means spell. There are now many accredited variants, Black Mojito, Dark Mojito, Mojito Fidel to name the most famous, but there is one without equal because it is premixed, easy to drink and has an unmistakable taste.
