Ponte1948 will be the winners’s glass of the Venice Film Festival

the 81st edition of the Venice International Film Festival opens.
Ponte1948 will be the winners’ glass as always.

Now in its 81st edition, from August 28 to September 7, the Venice International Film Festival will be the “place to be” for artists, enthusiasts and fans from all over the globe.

Among the most anticipated stars, Jenna Ortega, Winona Ryder, Willem Dafoe and Michael Keaton protagonists of the out-of-competition film Beetlejiuce, Beetlejuice by Tim Burton which will open the event with the extraordinary participation of the director’s partner Monica Bellucci. Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix will instead land for the sequel to Joker: Folie à Deux; Adrien Brody, Felicity Jones and Guy Pearce, for The brutalist; Julianne Moore, Tilda Swinton and John Turturro, in the cast of The room next door. Again, Brad Pitt and George Clooney will present Wolfs, Nicole Kidman and Antonio Banderas Babygirl, Daniel Craig and Jason Schwartzman will be in Venice 2024 for Queer, Jude Law for The Order, Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline for Disclaimer, while Angelina Jolie for Maria, a film about the story of Maria Callas.

Alongside them are some of the biggest names on the Italian scene: Piefrancesco Favino and Alba Rohrwacher (Maria), Toni Servillo and Elio Germano (Iddu), Laura Morante (Nonostante), Pietro Castellitto (Diva Futura), Alessio Boni, Valentina Cervi, Leonardo Maltese and Alessandro Preziosi for the Leopardi series, Alessandro Borghi (Campo di battaglia), Valeria Bruni Tedeschi (L’attachement), Filippo Scotti and Chiara Caselli (L’orto americano), Fabrizio Gifuni and Romana Maggiora Vergano (Il tempo che ci vuole), Francesco Gheghi and Francesco Di Leva (Familia), Barbara Ronchi (Diva Futura, Familia, Despite), Valerio Mastradrea and Luca Marinelli, the latter protagonist of the series M. Il figlio del secolo.

A goosebump-inducing Parterre de rois that can be found in the magnificent halls of the Hotel Excelsior, perhaps sipping a glass of Prosecco Doc Ponte1948 before taking the red carpet.

On Wednesday 28 August the opening ceremony will be entrusted to godmother Sveva Alviti while the closing ceremony scheduled for Saturday 7 September will see the assignment of all the prizes, including the coveted Golden Lion for best film consecrated by the ever-illustrious jury presided this year by Isabelle Huppert.
