Prosecco Superiore DOCG enters the most famous art catalogue in Italy: Eleonora Bottecchia’s magnums for the 30th anniversary of Ca’ del Poggio

Unesco Hills protagonist with the works of the artist from Treviso included in the CAM n. 60 Mondadori presented on Saturday 30 November in Milan at the headquarters of the Corriere della Sera Foundation. Marina Montedoro (Association for the Heritage of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene): “Territory that inspires and speaks to the heart of the world”

On Saturday 30 November in Milan, in the Sala Dino Buzzati in via Balzan, headquarters of the Corriere della Sera Foundation, the traditional presentation of the Catalogue of Modern Art n. 60 was held, published by Editoriale Giorgio Mondadori within the Cairo group.

Many illustrious guests from the world of Italian art and culture, critics, journalists and the Cairo group management were present: from the president Urbano Cairo to Carlo Motta, head of Illustrated Books Cairo Publishing, to Massimo Pujia, sales manager of the edition.

With the original interpretation of two Magnums of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG by Ca’ del Poggio, Eleonora Bottecchia honored Ottavio Bottecchia, her ancestor, and Alfonsina Strada, the first woman to have run the Giro d’Italia.

“Alfonsina” and “Ottavio. The Winner” are the titles of the works created by the artist from Treviso and chosen by Mondadori for the 2025 edition of the CAM: two Magnums with a limited edition label for the 30 years of Ca’ del Poggio.

The works were unveiled this year on the Ca’ del Poggio Wall, in San Pietro di Feletto (TV), on the occasion of the passage of the 20th stage of the Giro d’Italia, in the presence of the Governor of Veneto, Luca Zaia, and the president of the Association for the Heritage of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, Marina Montedoro.

The bright colors of the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France act as a canvas for the Unesco Hills traced without a brush with that “action painting” that characterizes Eleonora Bottecchia in her blue seascapes.

The Magnums wear the pink jersey for the homage to Alfonsina and gold for the memory of Ottavio’s yellow jersey. The two works of Prosecco Ca’ del Poggio, produced in a limited edition, are the first label of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG to enter the CAM, the Catalog of Modern Art published by Editoriale Giorgio Mondadori, the most famous art yearbook in Italy that will be in all bookstores from December.

“It is a thrill to be able to consecrate such an important moment in our history with a work with such profound meanings and that represents the values on which we founded our project: art, culture, history, landscape, nature and sport, which we find in proposing the food and wine of an entire territory. Thanks to Eleonora’s intuition and the strength of her expressive and talented performance, we are honored to contribute, even if only in a small part, to the great success of the publication of the work in the CAM 2024”, comment Alberto and Marco Stocco of Ca’ del Poggio.

Wine, art and Unesco hills: a theme that saw Eleonora Bottecchia already as a protagonist in 2020 at the Pro Biennale di Venezia curated by Vittorio Sgarbi and Salvo Nugnes with a work dedicated to the World Heritage Hills and in 2022 with “GEA” (Ghea) a Jeroboam of Prosecco that in its name paid homage to the feminine world and to the Unesco land. A material sculpture, totally green, shaped with natural fibers. Three-dimensional and sinuous in shape, GEA wanted to be a narrative, a sensorial artistic experience that goes beyond the label and the bottle, enhancing its content but also transferring the extraordinary morphology of the Unesco territory, so as to transmit, through art, the emotion of the rows of Prosecco that climb the hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene.

“This extraordinary project is a celebration of the bond between our UNESCO World Heritage Hills and the world of art, culture and sport,” adds Marina Montedoro, president of the Association for the Heritage of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. “The inclusion of the first label of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG in the prestigious Mondadori Modern Art Catalogue is an acknowledgement that highlights the uniqueness of our territory and its ability to inspire. I thank Eleonora Bottecchia for having been able to interpret, through her art, the essence and values of our hills: beauty, passion, tradition and innovation. With this project, Prosecco di Conegliano e Valdobbiadene confirms itself as an ambassador of excellence and guardian of a territory that is inspired by and speaks to the heart of the world”.
