The Big Bench #181 in Revine

The giant bench #181 (weighing 420 kg), part of the Big Bench Community Project, with its bright yellow color, is definitely worth a visit in Revine, at the Laste de Col location.

The trail, which takes about 25 minutes, starts in the town of Lago, taking Via Valdelle, to the left of the Lago parish church (you can already see the bench if you look up). Then, you will come across a few junctions, where you should always follow the path that goes uphill until you reach a small clearing with a commemorative plaque.

From there, the trail continues through the undergrowth until you reach the giant bench, where you can not only enjoy the unique experience of sitting on an oversized bench but also take in the stunning view of Revine, the hills, and the lakes.

What is the Big Bench Community Project: Born from the idea of American designer Chris Bangle and his wife Catherine, the BBCP Foundation is a non-profit association that combines the creativity of the design team at Bangle’s company (Bangle has been an Italian citizen since 2009) with the promotion of the Italian territory.

The founder writes about the project: “Once you sit on one of these Giant Benches and feel the sensation of enjoying the view as if ‘you were a child again,’ you experience something intense, something to share with others. The benches are made for relaxation; unlike a chair or an armchair, they are wide enough to accommodate one or more friends. Sitting on a bench is a pleasant social act, and making good use of all the positive energy that the Giant Benches radiate is the vision behind our Foundation.”
