Forests covering about 15,000 hectares, and then meadows and pastures, and Dolomite rocks all around. Val Comelico is made up of surprising and extraordinary landscapes, but also of traditions, culture, sport and relaxation. There are five municipalities in the area: Comelico Superiore, Danta di Cadore, San Nicolò di Comelico, Santo Stefano di Cadore and San Pietro di Cadore.
SUMMER
There is a great variety of excursions and itineraries on foot or by mountain bike, for all levels of difficulty. Starting from the meadows at the bottom of the valley, you will reach the woods and pastures and then up to the forcelle, the ridges and the most impervious peaks. Not to be missed for its high scenic value is the Val Visdende, from the Latin vallis videnda or ‘valley that deserves to be seen’, an unspoilt oasis with over 6,000 hectares of coniferous forests. This area is protected and access by motor vehicles is regulated in summer.

WINTER
The Val Comelico Ski Area is part of the ‘Dolomiti Superski’. the largest ski area in the world. The ski slopes that from Padola reach the 2000 metres of Col d’la Tenda, are a starting point of the evocative ‘UNESCO Dolomites Natural Park’ itinerary. Also in Padola, you will find about 30 km of cross-country skiing trails that wind through suggestive spruce forests in unspoilt nature.
